Project Marco Antônio Siqueira Rodrigues joins activities in South Africa and Namibia to discuss research results, develop articles and plan new actions for 2026

Professor Marco Antônio Siqueira Rodrigues, from Feevale University, has been on the African continent since last Tuesday, the 18th, joining a scientific mission linked to the BRICS Project, an initiative involving Brazil, India, China, Russia, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia. The professor conducts research at the Aquário Laboratory of Feevale, within the scope of the Postgraduate Programs in Environmental Quality and Technology of Materials and Industrial Processes of the Institution and has funded from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).

In South Africa, the professor participated in a series of technical meetings aimed at discussing the results obtained by each country throughout the year. Activities are also planned for the joint preparation of scientific articles and the planning of a new project to be carried out in 2026, strengthening international cooperation among the members of the initiative. The mission also includes a stage in Namibia, where Professor Rodrigues visited a water potability station. The objective was to analyze the performance of advanced treatment technologies using membrane separation processes, especially relevant for desert climate regions. The knowledge acquired will contribute to the advancement of research conducted by Feevale University and to the development of innovative solutions applicable to different environmental contexts.

The professor's return to Brazil is scheduled for the 28th. Based on this international experience, new scientific developments and partnerships should further strengthen Feevale's leading role in research related to environmental quality and technological innovation.
