Created in 2015 through the Cooperation Networks program, developed by the state government in partnership with Feevale University, Redvis, the first optical industry cooperation network in Rio Grande do Sul, celebrated its tenth anniversary in July. Throughout this journey, the group's 12 members - who operate 15 stores - have achieved several strategic collective benefits that have impacted individual business growth.

To spot its first decade of operation, Redvis will bring together its members and employees on August 31st in Ivoti for a celebratory event. The event will take place from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at Espaço Naturelle (Rua Flores do Campo, 170, Feitoria Nova).

According to Eloir Wingert, Chairman of the Board of Directors and owner of Redvis in Dois Irmãos, the strength of collective bargaining with suppliers reduced purchasing costs for items such as frames and lenses by 30%. In the first half of this year, the group generated R$2.1 million in purchases, with the total for 2024 reaching R$4.6 million. "Even with the flood, we had positive results," he points out. According to him, in 2023, the total collective purchases amounted to R$4.2 million. "We have been focusing heavily on new negotiations with suppliers to further adjust purchase values," he states.

This performance has allowed for an increase in staff. As of June, the chain had 65 formally hired employees. These figures reflect a national trend: the estimated sales growth in the Brazilian optical industry is 7.2% in 2025, according to the Brazilian Optical Industry Association (Abióptica). Shared marketing is another attractive feature of the chain. Promotional campaigns are defined monthly, and the cost is shared among members. Another example is the implementation of the new store layout. Recently approved, the new physical configuration of the stores can be implemented gradually, according to the financial capacity of the members.

Redvis currently has 12 members, with stores located in Sapiranga, Dois Irmãos, Ivoti, Estância Velha, Novo Hamburgo, São Leopoldo, Canoas, Gravataí, Caxias do Sul, Flores da Cunha, Guaporé, and Santa Maria. "Currently, we require one year of operation for new members, but we're considering relaxing this rule to support entrepreneurs from the start, maintaining the one-store-per-municipality guideline," explains the president, adding that this number is expected to increase.
