Feevale University has expanded its international training opportunities by signing a Double Degree Agreement for the Architecture and Urban Planning course with Universidad Mayor, in Chile. The agreement strengthens academic cooperation between the institutions and allows students to obtain degrees recognized in both countries. With this partnership, Feevale students will be able to obtain, in addition to the Brazilian bachelor’s degree in architecture and urban planning, the title of Architect granted by Universidad Mayor. Similarly, Chilean students will have the opportunity to complete part of their training at Feevale, also with access to the double degree.

The program provides a minimum period of two semesters of academic mobility, with up to two places offered per institution each year. Through this international experience, students will take specific courses, develop practical activities, and carry out their final degree work at the host university, according to an academic plan previously approved by both institutions. The partnership involves the Schools of Architecture at Universidad Mayor and the Architecture and Urban Planning course at Feevale, promoting the exchange of knowledge, methodologies, and academic experiences in different contexts in Latin America. This initiative adds to other internationalization actions already consolidated by Feevale. The University also has, at the undergraduate exchange level, double degree programs in the Nursing course, developed in partnership with the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, in Portugal, expanding the possibilities of international training in different areas of knowledge.

According to Luciana Martins, professor in the Architecture and Urban Planning course, the signing of the agreement marks a significant start for 2026. “It is a joy to begin the year with the consolidation of another important distinction for the Architecture and Urban Planning course at Feevale. As we celebrate 25 years of history, we are now offering our students and graduates the opportunity to obtain two diplomas recognized in two countries, expanding the possibilities for a more plural, critical and truly internationalized education,” she emphasizes. The professor also points out that Brazil and Chile share complex urban realities and relevant social challenges. “Learning to design, plan and think about the city from multiple perspectives strengthens the technical, ethical and sensitive capacity of future architects and urban planners,” she says.

According to Luciana, the international academic experience contributes to the expansion of repertoires, the exchange of methodologies, the encouragement of innovation, and the development of intercultural skills essential for professional practice in the 21st century. "In addition, the dual degree expands the possibilities of entering the job market, both in Latin America and in other global contexts, valuing the academic trajectory of the students," she adds. The agreement has an initial term of two years, with the possibility of renewal, and is aligned with the institutional strategies of Feevale University to offer training connected to the global challenges of architecture, urbanism, and sustainable development.
