Regina Heidrich will teach classes and workshops at three partner institutions in the Iberian country between November 5 and 14.

Next week, Professor Regina Heidrich (pictured), from the Postgraduate Program in Cultural Diversity and Social Inclusion at Feevale University, will travel to Portugal to participate in a series of activities at three leading partner institutions in the country. Between November 5 and 14, the researcher will teach classes and workshops at the University of Lisbon, the University of Évora, and the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, which are part of the project "Brazil and Portugal in the Promotion of Inclusion through the Development of Assistive Technologies," funded by the Abdias Nascimento Academic Development Program of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES).
During this period, Regina will conduct workshops and courses focused on promoting diversity, accessibility, and inclusive practices in educational and cultural environments. The focus is on sharing experiences and innovative solutions that promote equal opportunities and strengthen an inclusive culture. "Inclusion is a value that needs to be lived and practiced every day. When a university invests in projects that combine social responsibility and human development, it is contributing to a fairer and more sustainable future," says Regina, adding that training, awareness, and capacity-building initiatives in inclusion and accessibility generate effects that transform communities, schools, and public spaces.

The project Brazil and Portugal on Promoting Inclusion through the Development of Assistive Technologies, coordinated by Professor Regina, will allow 11 master's and 11 doctoral students to receive a six-month scholarship at one of the three partner Portuguese universities. To do so, the research topic must be the development of assistive technologies. Two students from the PPG in Cultural Diversity and Social Inclusion at Feevale are already in Portugal through the project: Caren Kroeff, from the master's program, in Évora; and Yohana Marx, from the doctoral program, is in Lisbon. In February, two more doctoral and three master's students will go to the Iberian country. "The project will also allow professors from Portugal to come to Feevale to give lectures and courses in undergraduate programs in the areas of technology and creative fields, and in the PPG in Cultural Diversity and Social Inclusion," adds Regina.
