Vanessa Valiati, from the Postgraduate Program in Creative Industry, shares results at prominent events on media, communication and digital cultures

Professor and researcher Vanessa Valiati, from the Postgraduate Program in Creative Industry at Feevale University, is joining important international events this month, in the United States and Portugal, presenting partial results of the research project Music and platformization: the algorithmic mediation of taste and consumption practices through streaming. The project is funded by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).

Last week, Vanessa presented a paper at the Changing Mediations of Music, Audio and Sound symposium, held in Denver, United States, discussing how algorithms shape music consumption habits on digital platforms. Also in Denver, the professor participated in the 75th Annual International Communication Association (ICA), sharing an article that was recognized as a “top paper” in the Philosophy, Theory and Critique division, one of the most prestigious recognitions of the conference.

This week, Vanessa will participate in the international conference Music and Online Cultures Research Network (Mocren), in Lisbon, Portugal. The event will take place between the 19th and 21st, and Vanessa will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the Special Plenary Session to open the event, in addition to presenting a paper. Brazil's participation in this meeting plays a strategic role in consolidating international research networks in the field of music and digital cultures
