Within twelve (12) months after joining the Program, proficiency in one foreign language is required from students of the Master’s Program, and proficiency in two foreign languages is required from students of the Doctoral program.  Students can choose between English, Spanish, French, German or Italian. Foreign language proficiency is mandatory for the request of the dissertation or thesis defense.

There will only be accepted proficiency certificate issued at institutions recognized by the Postgraduate Commission. For foreign students, proficiency in reading, writing and text interpretation in Portuguese language is a requirement.
