Internationalization inside and outside the classroom

17/05/2016 - Atualizado 14h10min
In the shift opposite to their lessons, Feevale’s exchange students take part in activities to enhance their knowledge and present their culture

A different culture, a different language and different possibilities. Each semester, Feevale University receives, through the International Relations Directorate (IRD), exchange students from several countries, who come to Brazil searching new knowledge to improve their academic and professional résumé. Some of these students spend part of their time either with studies or with activities in the Institution where they get in touch with people from Feevale and share their culture. Meet the academics who are performing actions at Central Directory of Students (DCE) and Feevale Elementary and Secondary School:

 International Business Course
"I’m having a great time in Brazil because I have met wonderful people and seen many natural beauties. At Feevale Elementary and Secondary School I have the chance to show students how wonderful my hometown is, talk about my country and my culture. It is an experience that can be applied to everything, regardless of professional career, because I have learned together with the children during the activities."
Aleksei Oksanichenko, 20, Russia
Student from HAMK of Applied Sciences, Finland

Production Engineering
"The exchange program has been very good as it has helped me grow as a person and be more independent. At Feevale Elementary and Secondary School, I have brought Mexico to the kids, talked about children's games, typical foods and I have also taught them a song. I have been learning to be more patient and flexible during the activities, which is very good for my career, because we always deal with different people in the job market."
Berenice Angel Torres, 23, Mexico
Student from Universidad de La Salle Bajio

Mechanical Engineering
"I do volunteer work at the Central Directory of Students (DCE) distributing information leaflets and helping in the internal organization. This has helped me a lot, because dealing with people daily is part of the professional world. I know it will be unforgettable because the experiences I have lived in Brazil are helping me to be a better person."
Luis Enrique Garnica Becerra, 21, Mexico
Student Universidad de La Salle Bajio

Computer Sciences
"At Feevale Elementary and Secondary School I have been helping in computer activities and also giving support during the technical course classes in Informatics. The activities help me understand, from a different point of view, the educational gap between Chile and Brazil, and to help me understand new methods that I can apply in my country. It is the second time I come to Brazil and everything is great."
Pedro Andrés Fernandez Miño, 27, Chile
Student from Universidad Santo Tomas

Languages
"My experience here has been very good, because I love Brazil and especially the people I met. I have been talking about Finland at Feevale Elementary and Secondary School and I believe this will help me a lot professionally, because I intend to work with children in the future. I am very happy to introduce my country to different classes, of different ages."
Pinja Valencia Fredrika Front, 22, Finland
Student from Tampere University
