Works are on display in Portugal and South Korea
The artist Lurdi Blauth, Feevale University Professor, participates in several art exhibitions throughout the world. In the 8th International Printmaking Biennial Douro 2016, held in Portugal until October 31, Lurdi presents the work Cárceres (water, paint and photography). "The works that compose this series are images of physical spaces that recall the memory of imprisonment places, although resized as public interaction spaces, still raise questions about the reality of imprisonment and surveillance," said the professor.
In the Southern Hemisphere International Printmaking Exhibition (SHIP), which takes place in South Korea, Lurdi exposes the work Ninho Habitado V (water, paint and photography). It will be displayed until August 31 in the Jincheon Print Museum in Jincheon; after that, from 5 to 27 November, it goes to the capital, Seoul, which will include the International Festival Printmedia. "The images of the Ninho Habitado series are from nests which were abandoned in my garden and were welcomed in my studio. By observing a nest, we always end up being delighted with the ingenuity and perfection with which the bird builds its small house, leaving the mark of an instinct that always repeats itself. While that is a precarious shelter, it also refers to the reverie of security and the place of absolute refuge, "says Lurdi.
