Cleber Prodanov, Feevale’s Pro-Rector of Innovation, and Alexandre Peteffi, Feevale Techpark’s executive manager, travel on September 10th
From September 12th to 23rd, Anprotec 2016 Technical Mission, in which Feevale University and Feevale Techpark also take part, is traveling to the Netherlands, Sweden and Russia. The initiative is promoted by the Brazilian Association of Science Parks and Business Incubators (Anprotec) and is conducted in partnership with the Brazilian Service to Support Micro and Small Enterprises - Sebrae, the National Council of State Secretariats for Science, Technology and Information Affairs - Consecti, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - MRE, Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research - TNO and the Swedish Incubators & Science Parks - SISP. For two weeks, the Brazilian delegation will visit the innovation ecosystems and mechanisms of projects generation linked to universities and business and innovation centers in the three countries. The last stop of the mission is in Russia, where the 33rd World Conference of International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) takes place.
In this initiative, Feevale University will be represented by Cleber Prodanov, Feevale’s Pro-Rector of Innovation, and Feevale Techpark by its executive manager, Alexandre Peteffi, both traveling on Saturday 10th. During the two weeks of the mission, in order to provide contact with the innovation systems of the countries, visits to science parks, universities, business and innovation centers are planned, where meetings will be held and dialogues with agents of local innovation systems will be promoted.
The mission starts in the Netherlands, where the members will participate in the Seminar on Public Policy and Support for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the country. There, they will visit the renowned Utrecht Science Park in Amsterdam, home to the sixth best incubator of Europe and that has supported more than 135 startups so far. They will also visit the Twenty University, an institution that is reference in the academic field for its performance in the area of entrepreneurship, having been one of the inspirations of Burton Clark (UCLA) in the development of the concept of Entrepreneurial University. Still in the Netherlands, other technical visits to important innovation institutes will be carried out.
“Along with us, several technology parks and Brazilian innovation environments will participate in this mission in order to get to know technological references in the three visited countries. Thus, our focus is to understand business models, governance and operation, besides understanding how these actors work in the local innovation ecosystem, in order to bring these examples to Brazil. This is a bilateral cooperation agenda aimed at formalizing partnerships with companies, universities and technology centers in these countries, "explains Prodanov.
“The second stage of Anprotec 2016 Technical Mission will be in Stockholm, where, among other activities, the delegation will participate in the Seminar on Public Policy and Support for Entrepreneurship and Innovation of Sweden. They will also visit the Science and Technology Park of Karolinka Institute, one of the most important innovation environments in the field of life sciences in Europe. According to the manager of Feevale Techpark, Alexandre Peteffi, the two-week activity will be an opportunity for engagement with Tecnosinos and Tecnopuc, which are Feevale Techpark’s new partners. "During the mission, we will strengthen ties with these new partners in order to plan actions and programs together in the future," he said.
The activities will be closed in Moscow, Russia, where the 33rd World Conference of International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) takes place with the theme "The Global Mind - linking innovation communities for internationalisation, sustainability and growth ". During the event, participants of the mission will have the opportunity to interact with leading global players in the segment of areas of innovation, led by IASP. "Our participation in the conference will also be an exchange period in which we have the opportunity to learn best practices in innovation environments around the world in order to replicate them in our region," says Peteffi.
